God's Forever Family
Larry Eskridge

'God's Forever Family' by Larry Eskridge is probably the most detailed history of the Jesus People Movement.  Anyone who lived through this movement would love this book. It brings back many fond memories for me.  I relate to it in so many ways.  I and a couple of my friends, of course along with Jesus, brought this movement to our home city. here in Ontario, Canada.  I was heavily involved in the Charismatic Movement mentioned in the book.  It was myself and a few others who mistakenly invited the Children of God cult into Ontario in 1971. The book devotes a whole chapter to this cult. The book speaks of the Shepherding Movement.  Well, it was my friends and I who brought that sub-movement of the Charismatic Movement to eastern Canada, here in Ontario. When it comes to such things as Jesus coffee houses, Jesus communes, Jesus music, and Jesus news papers, I was involved in it all. The books speaks of Larry Norman, Randy Stonehill, Love Song, Phil Keaggy and other Jesus People singer/musicians.  I still have all their original albums, some of which were in limited circulation.  I was instrumental in bringing their albums to our city here in Ontario through our local Christian book store. The book speaks of Scott Ross, former New York DJ, friend of the Beatles, Eric Clapton ... Scott's wife Nedra Ross of Ronda and the Ronnetes. I've met Scott and his wife, visited his Jesus community - Love Inn - in a barn in upstate New York. On and on it goes. If you were a part of this movement, you will like this book.
